Did you ever notice that drastic occurrences in nature can send a message to mankind which will in one way or the other prove that God has the ultimate power and He is in full control? Nature responds to the command of God and would in no ways go haywire in His sight. The Holy Bible confirms that God can do anything and no man can challenge Him neither can any man fully understand what He does (Ecclesiastes 8:17).
God making a statement through nature in the Bible
If you study the Bible, you will soon get to know that people are often comfortable or suite themselves with the routine behavior of nature and then forget that nature itself is controlled by God. God can therefore use anything to communicate with His people, nature included. I will cover some instances where God used nature to make a statement as recorded in the Holy Bible.
The great flood
According to the book of Genesis, starting from chapter 6 and 7, God observed the wickedness on the earth and saw that everything people thought or imagined was totally wicked. God then did something that no man who knew God to be a loving God would do. God wiped the entire generation of the world but saved only eight people.
The story is told of Noah who obtained favor in the sight of God because of his righteousness. Through Noah’s obedience to God’s word, an ark that saved the entire animal species was built. Noah did exactly what God had told him to do, an assignment many of us fail to do. At the right time, God instructed Noah to go into the boat with the animals.
God made water to erupt from the ground while the rain from above added to the floods (Genesis 7:11 – NLT). In 40 days, the entire world was covered with water. Everything that was living on the surface of the earth died. God made a statement that some believe is a myth.
Moses and the burning bush
This is another story that many may think is a myth just like the great flood. This story is recorded in the book of Exodus 3. Moses saw that the bush was on fire but was not burning up. In this instance, God spoke audibly to Moses from the burning bush and made His point clear. When you read further, you get to learn that Moses understood that it would be difficult for people to believe his story and requested that God should give him a lighter miracle to prove that it was indeed God whom he had an encounter with.
God opens a road in the Red Sea
Knowing the might of the sea, one can only believe it was God who performed this miracle. This is recorded in the book of Exodus 14. God commanded a strong wind to clear the way and keep the water from flooding the Israelites. It is amazing how powerful wind can be under the instruction of God the creator.
God opens the ground for the wicked
I do believe that God has the guards to wipe the entire world today and let everyone go to hell if it calls for it. No one can question or challenge Him. The only way to gain God’s favor is just to be on His side. In this instance we learn about those that incited a rebellion against Moses.
This story is recorded in the book of Numbers 16. Just from verse 31 we get to learn that the earth opened up to swallow them alive into the grave. This caused a lot of fear to the people that got to learn about this story.
God lets a prophet stops the sun from moving
Joshua, who is one of the prophets the Bible teaches about prayed to God for the sun not to move and it didn’t. Verse 13 says, “So the sun stood still and the moon stayed in place until the nation of Israel had defeated its enemies” – NLT. The Bible then records. “There has never been a day like this one before or since, when the Lord answered such a prayer” (verse 14).
Conclusion
I could go on to talk about the plagues of Egypt, Daniel in the den of lions, Joseph in Pharaoh’s palace, Abraham called to sacrifice his son, and many more instances of God speaking to people through nature. The one thing to notice here is that nature can only be controlled by God, yet man can only make attempts to control it.
All that this is saying to us is that God is mighty and worthy of our praises. We are surely hopeless without Him. The sooner we realize this and turn from our wicked ways, they safer the world we live in shall be and the safer our souls shall be. I just want to challenge you to think about this God who is on one side loving but on the other side instructing nature to teach us a lesson we do not enjoy or yearn for.
Be blessed.
I agree with your testimony.
I to believe in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, I feel God grace and gudiance as I walk upon this earth. I believe this with anything and everything that I know is true and good, .
However I have a hard time believing in my personal relationship with Our Father Would fine air in praying for on lost Loveland’s and especially those who were very close and walked with God I’m not saying to pray for God to bring them backi, but in my nighly prayers I ask that they know we continue to love and be remember with
