An additional reason why it seems like the devil is winning against God

winThe truth is that God is winning against the devil but the reason why it seems it is not the case is that, ‘Some pastors preach what they think but not what the Bible teaches’. Hear me out in the following post.

The devil seems to be winning when pastors preach their self-pleasing and Word twisting messages which are logically structured to impress the audience. This is happening as Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 4:3, For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear’ – NIV. You will notice that such preachers add to the impression that the devil is winning against God as many people are led astray right from the pulpit. It would seem like that is how this whole life issue is structured. Hear Jesus when He declared that the way that leads to life is narrow and the one that leads to destruction is broad (Matthew 7:13 – 14).

I don’t want to say this but I prefer ‘living in denial’ that this is the case and my effort to reduce this practice is posting articles like this one to alert people about the devil’s tricks to deceive many. Thus the purpose of this article is to warn you, the believer to wake up and smell the coffee. Don’t be deceived to believe that because the person that is preaching to you claims to be sent by God he or she is preaching the true Gospel. Many have found favour in the eyes of man for preaching their own defined gospel. I’m reminded of Carlton Pearson who preached the gospel of inclusion. This gospel teaches that God loves us all and therefore is willing and ready to compromise to accommodate our weaknesses.

Other than Carlton Pearson whom I already have spoken about, I will highlight three examples of messages of our time. One I heard from a local ministry pastor and the other two were recently shared by pastors on television. In both recent messages, the people liked the message and gestured positively to it by clapping hands for the pastor.

  1. Let me start by the first one that was shared by a local pastor. This pastor preaches that the Bible is outdated and the people that lived in Bible times long died and all that is recorded applied then. He claims that so many things have changed in the world that the Bible has not adjusted on to ensure compliance. To cover up for that, this pastor says that God speaks direct to His people today. He believes in prophecy, visions and reasoning. This may seem to be an obvious indicator of a false prophet and an agent of the devil but you will be surprised to learn that the last time I checked, this pastor had about 150 followers who did not mind this false message.
  2. The second case is of a pastor on One Gospel DSTV channel who preached that Jesus did not die to let people into Heaven. He first said that people originate from God in Heaven and therefore Jesus had no business taking them back to where they belong. He then gave an irrelevant analogy of him and his purpose for marrying his wife. He said that he married his wife so that she could move from her parental home. When his wife returns to her parental home, that in itself defines divorce, which undesirable. This exited the believers to the point that they clapped hands for the pastor.

The Bible teaches that Jesus died was sent on earth to die so that whosoever believes in Him should not die (going to hell after death) but have eternal life (going to Heaven after this life). This is according John 3:16. We also know this that Jesus was sent to save His people from their sins. We get this from the angel that brought the news to Joseph, the spouse to Marry in Matthew 1:21. Sin is what separated God from man and none who sins will see God. No one should take chances with sin because its consequences are server.

  1. The last and third one was shared on Swazi TV by a pastor that said God consults before doing things. This brings God to the level of being uncertain of the future and therefore needing an opinion from someone else. The first question that came to mind was, ‘with whom could God consult with?’ A quick answer would be ‘The trinity’. Not when Jesus, who is part of The Trinity told us that God’s will is ultimate and our desire should be for His will to prevail on earth just like it is in Heaven (Matthew 6:10). Jesus’ words give us the impression that whatever is happening in Heaven is not only God’s will but also what He instructs. Nobody questions His will at all.

The reality of false prophets is visible yet too few realise it. You are a witness to that there are countless twisted messages that are close to what the Bible says yet it is not the truth. It calls for Christians to be smart as serpents and be innocent as doves. The devil manifests himself in many deceptive ways.

I earlier covered an article where the devil attempted to reveal himself as an angel of light but was later on exposed. I titled the post, ‘The Devil or Satan is real’. I have given you the tips and it is for you to decide.

Be blessed.
