What is the Truth on Tithes?

Money to Offer as Tithes

Money to Offer as Tithes

Tithes are a tenth of whatever a person earns as income or profits.  This portion of your profits should be declared in your local church as tithes to God your provider, not the leaders of the church. People have said a lot about tithes while many want to keep other laws recorded in the Holy Bible but not the tithes. This has raised a controversy on tithing. I still insist that the right thing is to follow what the Holy Bible says and we can rely on revelations and visions given to the chosen ones that live with us in the world today.

Some believers have declared that they have a descent method, one acceptable to God, of using their tithes without surrendering it in church. Some declare having told God how they will be using their tithes and it was accepted to God. I do not have the answer but one thing I know is that the Word of God does not change and whatever is recorded in the Holy Bible, it must be observed as it is. Later I will tell of a vision that touched on tithes but for now you can read the Holy Bible from the book of Malachi 3:8 – 9 and then consult your innermost being to know the truth. I therefore wonder if anyone can negotiate with God to bend some of His Words and remain on the acceptable will of God. You be the judge.

The wide spread abuse of tithes

I cannot exhaust a list of things that brethren, church leaders, pastors, deacons and treasurers do with the money offered for tithes that they should not be doing. I know that as you read this line you are reminded of at least one of the things that you know someone is spending the tithes on wrongly.

What exactly is tithing expected to be used for

I will be honest; I haven’t taken time to study what it should be used for but I have been taught that it is aimed at helping widows, the needy, and I want to say that according to the revelations of hell given to Seven Youths in Korea, tithes must also be used to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Korean Youth had a casual visit to hell with the Lord Jesus Christ and saw people suffering in hell. Each of the people had a metal place around their necks written the sin that made them go to hell. Some of the plates were written ‘I’m here for fornication’, ‘I’m here for lying’, ‘I’m here for being normal’, and ‘I’m here for not giving tithes and offering’.  Jesus Christ said to the youth, ‘If people withhold their tithes and offering, it hinders the worlds of the Lord and the Gospel is not preached’.

If you do not give tithes and offering, you defile your body and your holiness is compromised. Remember that the whole purpose of this website is to promote holiness without which no man shall see the Lord after death. You may browse following this link ‘Revelations of Hell’ if you want to read the whole story on the visit to hell by the Korean Youth.

Conclusion

For now, I have nothing more to add. I do want to recommend for you to start abiding by the Lord’s laws and observe His Word without compromising. Now that you know the truth, it would be sin for you not to practice it.

  2. Chris says:

There are two passages which I have almost never heard from preachers of tithing….these are where God in the Law specifies the details of tithing to Israel….

Who does it apply to….What it is ….What is to be done with it……Why this is so.

Now why should these scriptures be ignored like this?…..because they totally contradict everthing that is taught as tithing today!

    Deut 14:22-29
“You shall truly tithe all the increase of your grain that the field produces year by year. 23 And you shall eat before the LORD your God, in the place where He chooses to make His name abide, the tithe of your grain and your new wine and your oil, of the firstborn of your herds and your flocks, that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always. 24 But if the journey is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry the tithe, or if the place where the LORD your God chooses to put His name is too far from you, when the LORD your God has blessed you, 25 then you shall exchange it for money, take the money in your hand, and go to the place which the LORD your God chooses. 26 And you shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart desires; you shall eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household. 27 You shall not forsake the Levite who is within your gates, for he has no part nor inheritance with you.

28 “At the end of every third year you shall bring out the tithe of your produce of that year and store it up within your gates. 29 And the Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you, and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow who are within your gates, may come and eat and be satisfied, that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do. NKJV

A second pasage confirms this teaching…

    Deut 26:12-15
12 “When you have finished laying aside all the tithe of your increase in the third year — the year of tithing — and have given it to the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, so that they may eat within your gates and be filled, 13 then you shall say before the LORD your God: ‘I have removed the holy tithe from my house, and also have given them to the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, according to all Your commandments which You have commanded me; I have not transgressed Your commandments, nor have I forgotten them. 14 I have not eaten any of it when in mourning, nor have I removed any of it for an unclean use, nor given any of it for the dead. I have obeyed the voice of the LORD my God, and have done according to all that You have commanded me. 15 Look down from Your holy habitation, from heaven, and bless Your people Israel and the land which You have given us, just as You swore to our fathers,”a land flowing with milk and honey.”‘ NKJV

If a preacher is teaching TRUTH he will address these passages….in detail….and NOT teach anything to the contrary

ie Tithes refer to the people of ISRAEL
ie Tithes were only ever increase of the fields and animals…ie FOOD and never money or the income earned by any other occupation
ie Tithes were only given to LEVITES…because they had forfeited an inheritance in the promised land
ie Tithes were to be EATEN
ie Tithes were for the FESTIVAL celebrations of God’s blessing on His people
ie Tithing was a reminder for the Israelites to FEAR the Lord….ie stand in awe of His blessing and goodness towards them

This was ALL God required from the Israelites as related to ‘tithing’ ….and the New Testament teaches that NOTHING like this is required from the Gentile believers (Acts 15: 5, 10, 24-29)

Use of Malachi to teach tithing outside of the Law as detailed in Deuteronomy is usually a wicked attempt to extort funds from people by deception.

    Titus 1:10-11
10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: (ie digging up things like ‘financial offerings and sacrifices’, ‘the widows mite, ‘money tiithing’ and the like from the Law)
11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake. KJV

The bible commands those who are elders among the body to ‘stop their mouths’

The worst part of tithing as taught is that it corrupts the Gospel….of God’s grace towards man

In the New Testament we are saved by grace…and not our works of the Law …(Eph 2:8-10)
God blesses us because HE loves us….not because we ‘earn it from him’….(Rom 4:4-6, Rom 8:32 …Eph 1:3)
God heals and works miracles (including provision) because of FAITH in Him …and not our ‘obedience’ to the Law … (Gal 3:2-5)
God does NOT curse his own children…..Christ bore the curse for us…(Gal 3:13)

Those who corrupt the Gospel take a huge risk with their eternity

    Gal 1:6-9
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. KJV

Those who dare to misrepresent what the LAW of tithing (Heb 7:5…Mat 23:23) clearly required of Israel….will also pay a heavy price

    Matt 5:18-19
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: KJV

  3. Gerald says:

Dave, I’d first srlongty encourage that he nurture the relationship s/he has with God, keeping that strong regardless of oppositions, which could come from all directions own family members, friends/peers, community. It is too easy to follow the ways of the world.’Then, as the opportunities to minister to students of same descent come, s/he should use the advantage of familiarity in culture/language/customs and establish a relationship first; then, as s/he earns the right to be heard, he is able to share Christ. Be patient, as it takes time for the relationship to be built. Sometimes, it takes weeks, months or even years before any noticeable results’. Plant the seeds, if that is the only things you can do. Water the plants, if you also have the pleasure to do so. But do expect increase’ in the Kingdom as the Lord alone can give increase and we must wait on His timing.
