Trusting in the Lord and He Alone – Proverbs 3: 5

trusting in the Lord Jesus ChristTrusting in the Lord for taking decisions and overcoming troubles of life is the sole solution. You must trust God because He alone is trust worthy. Trusting means relying entirely upon the Lord’s Word and promises as revealed in Scripture. Trust is demonstrated by a child that does not doubt its parents when holding it. The child does not ever anticipate that the parent may drop him / her.

This message of trusting in the Lord is for everyone that does not want to live a confused life but live under God’s wisdom. The message is also for every living people, young and old. One should not rely on his or her own or other people’s knowledge because human knowledge is always wanting. Human insights are never enough. You are a witness that people often declare situations as hopeless even when before God there still is a solution. Curing HIV/Aids is an example of illness that the world over has declared incurable yet before God no illness cannot be cured. It is amazing that God has made it possible for scientists to invent Anti-Retroviral Drugs (ARVs). ARVs are not good enough, however, God’s time will come when HIV/Aids will be history. Similarly, several important couples have received their miracles in conceiving while doctors and experience had declared no success.

Trusting in the Lord is the opposite of doubting God’s Word. Sarah of old, the wife to Abraham, doubted God when God declared that she will have a child in exactly a year to come. Elijah proved that trusting God is a worthy cause when he was facing the prophets of ball. Only the God of Elijah demonstrated that He is worthy of trust. He, God, hears and responds / answers to our prayers.

Many people are victims of trusting in false gods like the prophets of ball. In Africa, many are victims of trusting on ancestors. Doubt can be overcome by simply trusting God’s Word. All that trust in the Lord shall not be disappointed. His responses may not come as soon as people may want, but it does come.

Why should we trust God?

Psalms 18: 30 – The Lord’s ways are just. His Word is trust worthy.

Psalms 34:22 – God is a shield for those that trust in Him. He shields His own in times of hardship. He did it for the three Hebrew boys; Shedrark, Mishark and Abednego.

Psalms 119: 8 – 9: Trusting in God is better than trusting in any living human. It does not matter whether it is your wife, husband, friend, child or whoever. Married couples have been disappointed by their spouses and children.

Psalms 125: 1 – Those who trust in the Lord are like the Mount Sinai (Zion) and shall never be shaken.

Proverbs 28:25b – Those that trust in the Lord shall prosper. Prosperity is covered in the Bible and is on the condition of trusting in the Lord.

Psalms 7:1 – When you are persecuted and surrounded by fear; simply trust in the Lord

Psalms 62: 8 – Trust in God at all times, my people. Tell him all your troubles, for he is our refuge (Good News Version).

How to Practice Trust

Keep telling the Lord in prayer, even when the situation does not improve. Don’t turn to earthly alternatives such as traditional healers, etc. Press on even when all the reasons to give up are there.

Use the Lord’s Word as your guide. After reading the Holy Bible, trust what the Word says to you. Whatever the Bible says, it is exactly as declared because the Holy Bible is the Word of the living God. The Word of God covered in the Holy Bible is as fresh as in ancient years.

Brethren should leave outside of fear. Even in hopeless situations, do not think that it is finished about you, but simply trust the Lord. Even when you see no stars because of the clouds, it does not mean that the stars are not there. Wait for the time when the clouds are gone and then stars shall shine. Do not fear for your future does not end in peril.
