Jesus lived in this world for more than 30 years and He knows how it feels to be tempted because He also was tempted but He conquered. Hebrews 4:15 says, “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are–yet he did not sin”. Jesus is our advocate to God the Father and He works through the Holy Spirit who helps us in our weaknesses (Romans 8:26 – “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses”).
Novels, newspapers, blogs, forums, magazines and websites contain a lot that is purely non-Christian yet so interesting for the eye to browse through. What can we say to a person that wants to know what God says about these publications?
There are those obvious publications which are a clear no go area for Christians. As an example, a publication on pornography is not to be heard of amongst Christians. There may be justifications for reading such but it is just a clear non Christ like publication. Then there are those that are not as obvious but do promote evil practices such as gossip, drug and alcohol abuse, love of money, etc. That is where a Christian should have a sensitive spirit of discernment and put aside the publication or skip those sections that are not good.
God takes interest in relationships. He clearly demonstrated His interest at the earliest time of Bible history when He spoke to Cain about his brother Abel. It seems like when the two sons of Adam and Eve grew up, they cared for each other and God would have easily asked from any one of them where the other was. God asked not because He has difficulty knowing where the other brother would have been but because He likes for us to have interests in the affairs of others. This thought is contrary to what the world teaches us today. In Genesis 4:9, God asks Cain not because He does not know Abel’s whereabouts but encourages responsible for a brother.
The same God of Adam, Eve and Abel, is the same God who takes interest in our relational issues today. The New Testament encourages the same; love one another (John 13:34 – 35), love your neighbour as you love yourself (Mark 12:31) and encourage one another (1 Thessalonians 5:11). The apostle Paul mentions hospitality by accepting strangers into our homes as one of the ministries we should pursue (Hebrews 13:2). These are some of the actions expected from a believer.
I have seen that some Muslims and Jehovah’s Witnesses that they don’t understand that God is not human. They make a mistake of taking God to the human mind level and try to reason what He says in human terms.
Muslims questions the Bible a lot, in different ways and they are able to quote the Bible to suite their argument. I have seen this on youtube.com a lot. One time I tried to speak to one Muslim that runs a shop around the corner in town, trying to introduce Jesus to him, but he just couldn’t let me.
Christians are believers and followers of Jesus Christ. They are called Christians because they live a Christ like life. Do not be miss lead because some people may call themselves Christians but in their hearts they are not. Christians are those that love and keep His commandments (John 14:15, John 15:14).
There are promises in the Bible directly telling what a Christian will experience when they die. I need not reinvent the reality of what happens when a Christian dies but there are already people that have shared their experience on the subject. Allow me to reference Dean Braxton who had an encounter in heaven. Enjoy the video below.
This one fact cannot be disputed. ‘Someone in hell has been there for more than a thousand years’. In fact, not one person but billions of them. I believe that hell exists because I believe that Jesus is real. Jesus was not a made up concept to manipulate people like many other people say, but He is God’s son. I’m even disappointed at those that have left the way of Christ and opted for atheism such as Hill and other religions.
Whatever Jesus said is true and He alone knows exactly what the afterlife entails. A person already in heaven or hell does not know as much about the place he dwells in more that Jesus does.
Prayer is the practice of talking to God whether in thought or audible. This post is on the audible conversation made with God inside the house of God by a group of people. God is to be greatly honored in His house. You may make gestures in prayer but all that you do must be within the expression to God and nobody else while you pray. Any other move that is not focusing on honoring God is not right.
Hell is a place prepared for the devil and demons but people that sin will go there too. I today feel the need to emphasize that sin is what will cause people go to hell, even the smallest of sins. Many think that some sins are ignorable to God and He wont consider them for the soul that died commiting such small sin.
The truth of sins being equal in the sight of God has been shared countless times online. sermons and testimonies are shared daily covering the subject on sin being the same whether small or big. Its a challenge I have taken upon myself to do a daily introspections on the smallest of sins that I could be ignoring and taking for granted.
How do you know if what you believe in is not the true religion? How do you justify yours when everybody else can do the same? How do you take the message to your children when the education system in schools teaches children that all religions are the same and therefore they are free to follow whichever religion they feel comfortable to take.
I am a Christian. I have heard convincing testimonies online on other religions by people that unwaveringly believe in their religions. However, it always gets me wondering why people do not see the truth about God and the only way He has provided for man to unite with Him.
The life of a Christian should be an example to the world and all that want to know Christ should see Him in His followers. If you are a Christian but live a non-Christ like life, you are doing disservice to the kingdom of God. Being a true Christian is not an easy life but God is all powerful to give us strength to live a holy life. Some pastors and preachers of the Gospel are living a double life and evidence of their unholy living is spread out to the world through various means. I know one website that is fond of spreading such news in Nigeria (kaynaija.com) and many such websites exist.
I would like to remain relevant to the religious space in this article by giving an example of a Christian pastor that turned to Islam because he found his Christian counterparts to be living a lie, Yusuf Estes. I have watched his videos on youtube.com where he states his reasons for converting to Islam. The channel for his coverage is Muhammad Abdulaziz. Amongst many reasons he gives there is one that directly talks about Christian pastors living a lie. He himself claims that he was a Christian pastor at one point but later converted to Islam. In some of his videos, he says that when he asked questions to his fellow pastors they would not give answers but simply say ‘it doesn’t matter as long as the people believe what they (as pastors) say’. This behaviour contributed to loosing Yusuf Estesto Islam. Continue reading →
The storms of life hit everyone and it is good news that three Holy Bible authors address this issue. Mathew (Mat. 8:23 -27), Mark (Mark. 4:35 -41) and Luke (Luke 8:22 – 24). Thus the issue on storms of life cannot be ignored in real life situations.
Judgement is surely an event that shall not be missed, not even by a single living or any that ever lived. The living still have a chance to prepare for the coming of the Lord. Both the Old and the New Testament talks about the judgement day. People must note that when the Bible says anything, that thing shall surely come to pass. Many may quote that the Bible has long said that Jesus Christ will return for the Church but even today He has not showed up, forgetting that the Word does not state the date and time. Therefore, the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is surely coming.
Defining death is not necessary because anyone that can read this article definitely knows and understands what it is. The Bible goes on to confirm this that the living know that they will die (Ecclesiastes 9:5). The website cdc.gov gives an interesting analysis on death. According to ‘Our Daily Manna devotional booklet’, the statistics on death is known, 120 people die each minute, 150 die each day and 53.8 million people die each year. Needless to say, ‘each one of us shall die one day’. I’m sure you agree with me that these statistics are a revelation to the fact that there are more people that are dead than those that are alive today. Some go to hell, while others go to heaven.
This being the first post of a long journey of preaching holiness to the world, it would be good to start with the expected Christian conduct from each of the believers as they interact with the world in all their circles and communities.
Christians should be known by their conduct at their homes, family and in the community. Worship should be part of a Christian’s lifestyle. The Christian can know the secrets of God’s kingdom that Jesus shares in secrete with him or her (Matthew 10:27). Such secretes Jesus encourages the Christian to share them openly with the world. The New Living Translation says such secretes should be shares when daybreak comes. No wonder there is so much revelations from Jesus shared in many ways with the world today. These testimonies are in order and they are the will of Jesus and surely the will of God the Father.
