What Makes Christian man Relevant in today’s Church

Inside Mbabane Alliance church where the father’s service was held.

In my other mission of selling religious books or literature and other related material, I go around attending services where I display the books and make them available for sale. True but sad, in some places I make not even one sale whilst in other places it makes good business for me. It is interesting that I have grown to like participating in these services as opposed to just showing up to make a sale.

The importance and the call to Testify

Holiness Defined Biblically

The Holy Bible Defines Holiness

Christians should make testifying  about Jesus good works in their lives a common practice. Luke 8 verse 38 and 39, tells a story of a man that had been set free from evil spirits. Jesus instructed the man to go back home and tell the news about what Jesus had done for him.

Tithes and Offering for Businesses

Tithes and Offering

Tithes and Offering

Tithes are a tenth of a person’s earnings that should be given to God in church while offerings are free will giving. Tithes and offerings are an obligation for individuals and that is not questionable. Why? Because the Holy Bible says so. The question then becomes, should businesses do the same?

Do not Leave your Rightful Position at Any Rate (Ecclesiastes 10: 4)

Do not leave the place or position that God has put you in, even when you are faced with perilous times. Your position is your job, marriage, works of service in church, etc. This applies to all people; young and old, popular or not, Pastors or not, rich or poor. Perilous times match individual statuses and positions. It is a pity that perilous times are times that each and every one will have to face a couple of times in their lives.

Perilous times can wound you spiritually as well physically. The versions of the Bible differ in the interpretation of the verse. The New International Version (NIV) says that ‘if a ruler’s anger rises against you’, the Living Translation’ says ‘if your boss is angry with you’, English Standard Version’ says, ‘if the anger of the ruler rises against you’ and SiSwati version says ‘nangabe intfukutselo yembusi ikuvukela’ and Zulu says ‘uma umoya wombusi ukuvukela’.  Some other versions say ‘King’s anger’. The common factor in these versions is that the peril comes from someone superior to you. Unfortunately, the devil is also a ruler, according the Mathew 4:8 – 9 and 1 John 5:19 (…the world is under the power of the wicked one). Therefore, the verse could also be referring to the devil as the ruler or king.

Encouraging Good Christian conduct at home and in the Community – 1 Corinthians 4:1

eclectic- VIPs in churchThis being the first post of a long journey of preaching holiness to the world, it would be good to start with the expected Christian conduct from each of the believers as they interact with the world in all their circles and communities.

Christians should be known by their conduct at their homes, family and in the community. Worship should be part of a Christian’s lifestyle. The Christian can know the secrets of God’s kingdom that Jesus shares in secrete with him or her (Matthew 10:27). Such secretes Jesus encourages the Christian to share them openly with the world. The New Living Translation says such secretes should be shares when daybreak comes. No wonder there is so much revelations from Jesus shared in many ways with the world today. These testimonies are in order and they are the will of Jesus and surely the will of God the Father.
