Being a Christian is a choice yet not an easy one as many may have declared. Before I give reasons for taking the trouble to become a Christian, I will first outline why I believe being a Christian is not easy.
Christianity has some standards and failing to meet them by the slightest of error disqualifies the believer. This calls for the believer to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and correct the error, failing which face the very serious consequences. I will start by listing some of the requirements that are really not easy to meet and then given the justification of keeping on even when it is not easy.
Jesus lived in this world for more than 30 years and He knows how it feels to be tempted because He also was tempted but He conquered. Hebrews 4:15 says, “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are–yet he did not sin”. Jesus is our advocate to God the Father and He works through the Holy Spirit who helps us in our weaknesses (Romans 8:26 – “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses”).
The Christian who strives for holiness may have questions on some issues which the many do not really care about. I have also asked myself the question on whether watching circular television channels and its programs is sin or not a number of times, particularly because many visionaries have cited television as a tool that the devil uses to kill many in their spiritual walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.
The one thing we all should note is that whatever is sin before God, it is equally abominable to God whether it is committed by Christians or non-Christians. I mention this because often people would say statements like, ‘if you are not a Christian you are free to do as you like’. Everybody is called to live according to God’s commandments, there is no exception. Therefore, the subject on non-Christian television programmes is for everyone.
I want to paint a picture of just one aspect of the condition in hell, ‘thirst’. First of all, we Christians believe that hell exists and the conditions of hell are unbearable and its incumbents must unfortunately endure it eternally. Worse of all is that it takes one little error to get to hell. A small lie, some hate, rage, anger, jealousy, etc. disqualifies one from heaven and sets that person’s destination to be hell.
Hell is described as a place of never-ending trauma, burning fire, and unquenchable thirst; a place where you are hopelessly lost and without human intervention forever (Bill Wiese, 2006). It is still important to mention that Bill says all this both from the experience he got from a vision but most importantly is that his testimony is supported by scripture.
This analogy is meant to clear the cloud on the humanly made idea that there are many ways that lead to the same God. Even when Jesus has said it clearly that He is the only way to get to God (John 14:6) but people still don’t want to accept that truth. Unfortunately, you first have to make a relationship with Jesus Christ before you can access God. Rejecting this truth does not change it but only defines the person that objects to be a fool. God cannot change His truth for anyone’s comfort, it does not matter the reasons.
Next I will quote an analogy that was given by Bill Wiese when sharing his testimony of a visit to hell. This analogy was precise and I wanted to re-share it in this blog and I’m sure it will be helpful.
The Bible teaches us many things amongst which are history on how God lead His people and conducted their affairs and the works and words of Jesus Christ, the leader and model for Christians. It is important to understand and interpret the Word of God with understanding and the best way is to do so prayerfully and diligence.
You are a witness that the result of different interpretations of the Word of God has over time produced cults, different Christ related religions and countless denominations. This is because some people that strongly believe in some verses cannot tolerate seeing others taking such verses lightly and therefore prefer to establish their own churches.
The truth is not easy to define as some may think yet it is one of the major Christian doctrines that are highly compromised. However, comparing the truth with its direct contrast may shed some light into what it actually is. Error, lies and darkness are good examples of what the truth is not. They are irreconcilable enemies to the truth.
The Bible talks a lot about that which is truth and that which is not. I would like to start with the declaration of the model of Christians, Jesus Christ Himself. Jesus Christ declared that He is the truth (John 14:6). He did not say He was part of the truth neither did He say that He speaks the truth, but He is the truth. This gives us insight to that truth is not of man but from God.
Islam religion is newer than Christianity, I’m sure no one disputes that. We are told Islam came about through a vision shown to the prophet Muhammed. Thus the prophet Muhammed is understood to be the latter prophet from Allah (not God as defined by Christians). It means that the prophet Muhammed is the top model for how the best Muslim should live his or her life, similarly Jesus Christ is a model for the Christian.
I have read and listened to videos that tell the life of the prophet Muhammed. I have also learnt about the life of Jesus Christ. I will not go much into these about the prophet Muhammed because I still have to learn more about him but I will tell a few about the Jesus Christ I know as a Christian.
Terrible as it is that South African natives have decided to be violent to immigrants that have left five dead and thousands displaced, it is true that the source of all this is the devil himself. How the devil works is tricky because mankind would generally think that what they do comes from their pure reasoning. Be reminded that whatever you do, think, action and meditate on largely depends on external spiritual influence. Such influence could be either from the light (God) or from darkness (devil). God in His wisdom let man have a will to do as they please while on earth.
I personally would not love to target one particular religion in my preaching because all other religions other than Christianity are false. However, after listening to a number of testimonies on how those that converted from Islam to Christianity have distinctively made contrasting qualities, I got convinced that this post will be relevant.
God is alive and He truly appears to those that seek Him. The belief of Christians and of this blog is that God is in three, ‘God the Father, God the Holy Spirit and God the Son’. Therefore, when I say God appears to those that seek Him, I mean He can appear in any of the three forms or a combination of two or all.
God is not dumb neither is He deaf. He speaks through the Bible but He also can speak audibly if He chooses to. He can speak through sings from people, nature and your conscious. He can direct you to your answer because He is in full control of the world and all its operations.
Reverend, Pastor, Bishop, Deacon, Deaconess, Preacher and teacher of the Word of God and every believer should work at overcoming hypocrisy. It is true that while we live in this world we will be tempted and sadly we may fall into sin but that is not our destination.
It is sad that as Christians it tends to be easy to see the wrong in others, talk about it, blog about it just like I often do, gossip about it sometimes, yet indirectly or even I secretly we do the same thing (Luke 6:41). That is what the Bible calls ‘hypocrisy’.
Prayer is the practice of talking to God whether in thought or audible. This post is on the audible conversation made with God inside the house of God by a group of people. God is to be greatly honored in His house. You may make gestures in prayer but all that you do must be within the expression to God and nobody else while you pray. Any other move that is not focusing on honoring God is not right.
The aim of this article is to help Christians realize that they also with be judged with the same measure like everybody else. This is to me as well. God will not compromise His standard for any human. Only those that wait for Him will make it for heaven when He comes.
How painful it will be when some Christians die only to find that they don’t make it to heaven. This will befall all Christians that have been disobedient to God’s warning and chastening.
The Spirit of nudity is prevalent all over the world today and it destroys a Christian’s holiness position. It dominates the world such that anyone can hardly avoid it. It is freely promoted and accessible from almost any bookshop, store, countless websites, in social networks, on television, and everywhere. The spirit of nudity comes to the Christian in a disguised form and often surprises him or her when they find themselves trapped in indulgence to it. Exactly the devil’s objective, ‘tricking believers to get involved in the worldly practices of nudity’.
How you indulge is by watching nudity in any of its forms, by being nude in public or in inappropriate places, wearing clothes that reveal sensitive parts of your body, buying and keeping things that will make you yearn to participate in nudity. Many don’t like discussing the issue on nudity because it touches some areas of their comfort. I wouldn’t be surprise if many would ridicule and dismiss this post.
