You may call it prosperity or success but it can comes either from God or from the devil. Choose today the source of prosperity you want but know that each has respective consequences, in today’s language I would say ‘terms and conditions apply’.
God given Prosperity
Just before I address the truth of God given prosperity, let me first touch on His righteousness. God is righteous and just and this is the foundation of His throne. It is because of God’s justice that He disciplines more severely those who know the truth but do not live by it. That you read this article is because God wanted you to understand His judgments. When you gained understanding from reading articles such as these but do not walk in what you have been convicted off by God, you will receive greater judgment. To whom much ‘knowledge’ is given, much will be required (Luke 12:48).
Prosperity that comes from God comes from humbleness. For God will show severity to the proud and mercy to the humble. God that cannot lie has promised to bless His children to have abundance and even share it with others. Sharing calls for you to know that all that you have is entrusted by God to you. Unfortunately, the greatest distraction of saints has not come from difficulties, but from prosperity. Saints need to learn to seek God in prosperity as when they are in poverty.
Those who prosper by God’s standards do not compromise the truth in order to prosper because their prosperity is not defined purely in earthly terms. If you think money and wealth defines prosperity to God as it does to man, you are mistaken. This is not to say that prosperity does not include earthly riches but it goes beyond that. Watch therefore that you do not focus only earthly definition and judge or blame God for not seeing prosperity the way you want it to look to you.
Devil given prosperity
The article on ‘Dishonest Gain’ is a definite explanation of what the devil can provide as prosperity to a person. Know that the prince of darkness also gives prosperity. He continues to make the same offer to Christian just as he did to Jesus. Luke 4:9 gives us insight that ‘He (Satan) will give the kingdoms of this world to those who will bow down and worship him and serve him by living according to his ways’, when Jesus was tempted. This could be trough bribes, embezzlements, you know the rest.
The riches of those who have prospered by serving the prince of this evil age and using the ways of this evil age will be a millstone that hangs about their neck when the floods come. All will soon be judged by the truth.
Caution
The wages of sin is death, and the wages of righteousness are peace, joy, glory and honour. All people are about to receive their worthy wages. This is the judgment, and it is justice that is set for all man. If you love sin and your own comfort and prosperity more than God you will soon know God’s severity. You won’t stand in the times that are coming, repent and amend your ways for it will then be well with you.
